Concept One: Victorinox Bets on Innovation and Proven Mechanics

In April, Victorinox announced the launch of its new Concept One model line. This collection introduces innovative movements never before seen in the Victorinox lineup, allowing wearers to confidently manage their time and truly make the most of it. For the first time in its history, Concept One features a solar-powered watch and an automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve. The model series is available in a 39 mm case diameter.

Concept One is Victorinox’s first solar-powered watch—a smart and sustainable solution. The watch is powered by a Swiss-made Ronda 215 solar movement and is designed for a long service life; the solar cell lasts for 8 years, eliminating the need for battery replacement. The solar cell harnesses both sunlight and artificial indoor light, ensuring continuous operation and allowing the movement to make the most of the stored energy.

The quick-start feature ensures that just one minute of sunlight is enough to get a completely discharged watch running, and the power reserve keeps it running for up to eight months in complete darkness. Advanced technology provides protection against overcharging, thereby preserving durability and performance. The solar models feature a smooth, curved dial. They are available in four versions: three with a rubber strap and one with a steel bracelet.

The collection also features the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement, manufactured in Switzerland, with a 68-hour power reserve—enough to let the watch run unwound over the weekend without having to wind it again on Monday. This movement guarantees consistent accuracy and reliability, just as we’ve come to expect from Victorinox.

All models in the automatic version feature a vertically brushed dial. The bezel, with a satin-finished sunburst surface, a polished inner section, and an inner beveled hexagonal shape, is equipped with scratch protection and perfectly complements the geometry of the entire case. Just like the solar-powered models, the manufacturer offers a choice of four versions here: three with a rubber strap (green, gray, and blue) and a black version with a steel bracelet.

One Collection, Two Worlds

Both the solar-powered and automatic models feature a 39-mm stainless steel case and are water-resistant to a depth of 100 meters (10 ATM). The watch face is, of course, protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The watch face also features a subtle date window at the 6 o’clock position, which is black and does not detract from the overall clean look of the dial. Luminous hour markers and hands ensure readability even in low light.

For added convenience, all straps and bracelets feature a tool-free replacement system with a flip clasp, ensuring a smooth replacement process. Durability is enhanced by double shock protection, while the solar-powered movement also offers resistance to magnetic fields.
