The stainless steel case has a diameter of 42.5 mm and a height of nearly 13 mm, which is a typical size for this brand’s products. The watch is definitely not suited for smaller wrists, partly due to its lug-to-lug width, which measures exactly 50 mm. Just as with the more famous Lunar Pilot models, I recommend trying the watch on before purchasing it. The strap width is 22 mm, so even an olive-colored fabric strap would work well here.

The color combination is also very well done—one that isn’t often seen on watches. The olive-green dial is complemented by a brown leather strap with stitching, creating a classic military look that never goes out of style. Above all, the dial is practical and easy to read. Even the date window on a black background, hidden above the 6 o’clock position, doesn’t detract from the design. Large numerals, contrasting hands, and luminescent markings ensure good readability even in low-light conditions. No expense was spared here, and the dial is truly a sight to behold at night.

Why does a military chronograph have a quartz movement?

Inside, the Bulova NP20 movement powers the chronograph function and date display. The chronograph features a classic layout with three sub-dials and allows for measuring time intervals, which adds to the watch’s practical nature. The use of a quartz movement is also an interesting feature in a military-style watch. Many enthusiasts automatically expect a mechanical caliber, but in this case, a battery-powered movement makes perfect sense. Military watches have never been primarily about the romance of mechanical movement, but rather about precision, reliability, and minimal maintenance.

Moreover, this is no ordinary quartz movement. Bulova uses its high-frequency technology with a crystal oscillating at 262 kHz, which is approximately eight times higher than that of standard quartz movements. The result is exceptional accuracy, with a deviation of only a few seconds per year.
