Home on the Hill: MeisterSinger Unveils the Limited-Edition City Edition BRNO

We first collaborated with the MeisterSinger brand on the Antonín Dvořák limited edition, created in 2020 in a run of 10 pieces and dedicated to the famous Czech composer. The BRNO edition builds on this successful collaboration and was also produced in a strictly limited run of 10 pieces. It is precisely these small series that tend to be the most sought-after, and we believe this model will become a rare collector’s item.

A city that is home to its people

The concept behind this edition was not created merely as a decorative element for the dial and case back, but as an expression of how the people of Brno truly perceive their city. Residents see Brno primarily as a place where life is good—a people-friendly, compact city with a strong identity built on the interplay of history, education, culture, and modern life*. It is not a metropolis that impresses with its size, but a city that people come to love for its atmosphere. This edition sums up this idea in a single, apt phrase: Brno as “Home on the Hill.”

The hill is not just a figure of speech. It is Petrov—the hill with the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul—which for centuries has formed the defining silhouette of the Brno skyline and serves as a landmark toward which the gaze turns from almost anywhere in the city.

Petrov on the base and on the dial

The watch dial features a light blue color with a sunburst effect that subtly shifts and comes to life depending on the angle of the light. The dark blue applied hour markers add depth and contrast to the dial. In typical MeisterSinger fashion, the white hand slowly and calmly completes one full rotation around the dial every twelve hours.

Above the number “06” is a small, dark blue oval plaque with a delicate white engraving—in the case of the BRNO edition, it features the silhouette of the cathedral on Petrov Hill. It is a detail that gives the watch a distinctive character at first glance at the dial, but its full beauty is revealed only up close.

The same motif—a panorama of Petrov Hill with the cathedral—is then engraved in a more elaborate design on the back cover of the case, along with the name of the city and the serial number of the specific piece in the edition. The cathedral on Petrov thus accompanies the watch on both sides, serving as a quiet reminder of home.

Elegant Design and the “One Hand” Philosophy

The watch features an elegant, slim 40 mm stainless steel case, complemented by a domed sapphire crystal and water resistance up to 5 bar. Inside, it is powered by a Swiss Sellita SW200 automatic movement with a 38 hour power reserve ensured by a self-winding rotor. The watch comes with two leather straps featuring a subtle ostrich-patterned design—in dark blue and light blue—and is packaged in a special presentation box along with an edition certificate.

Like all MeisterSinger watches, the City Edition BRNO is based on the distinctive principle of a single hour hand that circles the dial once every twelve hours. This concept, inspired by the oldest mechanical clocks, slows the perception of time and focuses attention on the present moment —a philosophy that symbolically aligns with the idea of Brno as a place where people live at a calmer, more human pace than in Europe’s largest metropolises.

A collector’s item

The City Edition series is available in more than 40 different versions—ranging from smaller cities to global metropolises to entire regions or countries. The personalization of each version lies in the meticulously engraved case back and the oval plaque on the dial, and each edition is limited: depending on the specific version, only 5 to 15 pieces are produced, making the City Edition one of the most exclusive special models from MeisterSinger.
