Tissot’s connection to cycling developed naturally and took on an official form in the 1980s, when Tissot first assumed the role of official timekeeper for the Tour de France. The partnership with A.S.O. (Amaury Sport Organisation—the organizer of the Tour de France) was first established from 1988 to 1992. It was renewed in 2016 and continues to this day.

Tour de France Special Edition

As it does almost every year, Tissot has once again created a special edition watch for this race. Just as in the previous two years, the brand has chosen a model from the PR 100 series, which is one of Tissot’s most popular lines. The watch combines a sporty character with an elegant design. The 40-mm case is made of stainless steel with a black PVD coating and is paired with a black-and-yellow fabric strap. The package will also include a second black rubber strap. The straps can be easily changed thanks to the quick-release system, allowing you to adapt the watch to different occasions.

The watch is powered by an ETA G10.21 movement and, in addition to telling time, also features a date display and a stopwatch. The dial also includes a scale for measuring heart rate.

The watch references the famous race through several details. First, there’s the combination of black and yellow—the official colors of the Tour de France—which appears on both the dial and the strap. Another detail is the race logo engraved on the watch’s caseback. And last but not least, there’s a special black box featuring the Tour de France logo.
